PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Please register online and bring your paid receipt to class.

This course meets all the requirements under Brianna's Law (a law that requires completing the course to operate a vessel in NYS) and meets the NYS and USCG requirements for PWC/Jetski Operation and Boating Certification (i.e. Licensing). Upon successful completion, you will have met the requirements and can operate a PWC (i.e. Jet-ski) and operate a powerboat independently. You will receive a safety certificate (often referred to as a NYS Boating License or jetski license) upon successful completion of this course- certificate received same day as class. You also have the option to add an endorsement to your NYS Drivers License.

The course is designed as a comprehensive boating course, teaching the fundamentals of safe boating operation. Taught by State Certified Instructors with materials approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators. NYS requires classroom instruction, and this class includes the following topics:

Boats & Motors
Equipment
Fueling & Ventilation
Marine Environment
Navigation
Numbering & Registration
Personal Watercraft
Rules of the Road
Safe Loading & Powering

Upon successful completion of the course a temporary certification, valid for 90 days, will be issued- adults 18 yrs of age or older will be required to pay a $10 fee online to the State of New York so that their permanent Certification card can be mailed to them within this 90 day period. For children between 10-17 yrs of age, the $10 NYS fee is waived.
