The Pennsylvania Boater Education Card (also referred to as the Pennsylvania boating license) is proof that a boater has taken and passed an approved boater education course.
The Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission currently has mandatory boater education for all PWC (personal watercraft) users 12 years old and over.
Additionally, all boat operators born on or after January 1, 1982 are required to successfully complete a Boating Safety exam and have their Boating Safety Education Certificate onboard with them while operating any motorized vessel that is propelled by a motor greater than 25 hp.
