What Is This Course?
This is a New York State–approved Boating Safety Course required under Brianna’s Law to legally operate a powerboat or Jet Ski (PWC) in New York State. The course meets NYS and U.S. Coast Guard requirements for recreational boating certification.
What Do You Receive After Completion?
Upon successful completion of this Bethpage NY boating class, you will:
- Receive your NYS Boating Safety Certificate the same day
- Be legally certified to operate a powerboat in New York State
- Be authorized to operate a Jet Ski / Personal Watercraft (PWC)
- Have the option to add a boating endorsement to your NYS Driver’s License
This certificate is commonly referred to as a New York boating license or Jet Ski license, and it is valid for life.

Certification & NYS Fees
- A temporary certificate (valid 90 days) is issued immediately
- Adults 18+: $10 NYS processing fee (paid online to NYS)
- Ages 10–17: NYS fee waived
- Permanent NYS certificate is mailed within the 90-day period

Do I need a boating license in New York?
Yes. Brianna’s Law requires all operators of powered vessels in NYS to complete a boating safety course.
Is this course valid in Nassau County and Long Island?
Yes. This NYS-approved course is valid statewide, including Nassau County and Long Island waters.
Do I get my boating certificate the same day?
Yes. You receive your boating safety certificate immediately after completing the class.
